— Woman loses 20kg from powerlifting By Jane Linley-Thomas*
Check out: FAT LOSS AND TRAINING: THE REAL SCIENCE
For any coach well versed in training science, it is no surprise that story after story is coming out about people dropping body fat like never before when beginning a Powerlifting program. I’m sure your high school science teacher wouldn’t be surprised either. Calories are burnt by WORK (Newton Meters).
Powerlifting movements force you to develop more force than any other exercises, since they are 3D (unlike machines which are 2D) and the most amount of weight can be used for them. i.e, more Newton Meters will be produced.
In your body, it takes 0.238902957619 calories to produce 1 NM of external work. If a 6 foot person deadlifts 260 pounds for 10 reps, 1358 calories are burned! It’s pretty simple. If you stick with a Powerlfiting program , not only will you get stronger, it will become impossible for you NOT to lose weight.
There is seemingly an endless supply of fad workouts out there claiming to be the best for burning body fat. By simply turning to basic physics can we can solve this mystery. If you want to get stronger, more powerful, leaner, and sexier, start lifting.
