“Back in my fat days, I knew I was unhealthy. I knew I felt like crap and I knew I was embarrassed to take my shirt off at the pool. So I did something about it.
Thank goodness no one convinced me I had a ‘body image issue.’
Thank goodness there were no coddling, politically-correct enablers around comforting me and making me accept my sloppy state, or brainwashing me into believing that I loved my sluggish body.”

The Way: DISCIPLINE > MOTIVATION
The physical parameter that determines calorie burning is Work (Newton Meters). The barbell and the major lifts (Bench Press, Press, Squat, and Deadlift) are the most efficient tools for producing work/calorie burning.
After the physics are understood, we need to secure the right mental state to ensure fat-loss results. What is the mental component most critical for success in a Work producing barbell program? Discipline. Discipline is the back bone of the improvement process in any endeavor, especially fat-loss. Discipline is the fertile soil from which the seeds of motivation grow into fruitful life-changing improvements.
Motivation is a fleeting state of mind if it is based out of a disciplined outlook. When you are trying to get ripped, motivation can be difficult at the start, when your body hasn’t got any metabolic momentum yet and it seems like nothing is happening. This is where discipline to both lift hard and eat right come into play.
Once the fat starts to melt off and your real body starts to reveal itself the discipline you have will start to directly produce motivation. After that, the sky is the limit.
